Tryb subjonctif: subjonctif plus-que-parfait

We use it when you need to use subjonctif for an action done in the past if the predicate of the main clause is in the past tense. We only use it in writing, in speech it is replaced by subjonctif passé .

Formation: subjonctif imparfait of the verbs être or avoir (formation of compound tenses) + form of participe passé.
