Impératif mood: simple form

This mode expresses an order. It has only 2nd person singular and plural and 1st person plural. In other persons it is replaced by subjonctif .

Basically the impératif forms are identical to the corresponding forms of présent indicatif .

Exceptions:

• verbs of the 1st group and aller (verbs in -er) do not have -s in 2nd person singular: parle, va, finis,
  
  
• the following verbs have special forms: savoir (sache, sachons, sachez), vouloir (veuille, veillons, veuillez), être (sois, soyons, soyez) and avoir (aie, ayons, ayez).

We do not put personal pronouns before imperative forms:

vous parlez - you speak

parlez - speak
