SPANISH GRAMMAR

Imperativo

This mood expresses the command: habla - speak, hablad - speak.

This mood has special forms in the 2nd person of both numbers: then it has the endings -a and -ad in conjugation I, -e and -ed in conjugation II, and -e and -id in conjugation III. In other persons it is replaced by presente de subjuntivo.

Please note that imperative forms (replaced by presente de subjuntivo in the third person) are very common: hable (usted) - speak.

In its negative form it is replaced by presente de subjuntivo in all persons: habla - speak, but no hables - do not speak.

As you can see, only the singular is irregular.
