Body parts:

Let's look at the plural and genitive singular forms of the most common nouns. Frequent words have many irregular forms.
Plural form:
Masculines : the typical masculine ending is -e : Tage, Köpfe
Rare masculine ending -er in: Männer
Exception: ending -en : Menschen, Herren.
Feminines: the typical ending is -(e)n: Weisen, Seiten, Zeiten, Uhren, Welten, Frauen
much rarer -e: Nächte, Hände
Neuter nouns: the usual ending is -er : Kinder, Häuser
but there is -e in : Jahre.

The genitiv Singular is regular, i.e. -(e)s in the masculine and neuter.
However, there are exceptions: des Menschen and des Herrn.
